Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and inspection of roads, sidewalks, and drainage infrastructure.
- Operate and maintain heavy municipal equipment, including dump trucks, graders, rollers, and snowplows.
- Respond to emergency service requests and perform snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and environmental policies.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers and inspectors to execute municipal projects efficiently.
- Diagnose mechanical issues in light and heavy equipment and perform basic repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance logs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; technical certification is a plus.
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works, construction, landscaping, or a related field.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow technical instructions precisely.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and light mechanical systems.
- Must possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
