Responsibilities
- Execute Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance, repair, and installation of streets, sidewalks, and public park facilities.
- Operate Heavy Machinery: Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, including dump trucks, backhoes, and snowplows during inclement weather.
- Ensure Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all city safety regulations, OSHA standards, and environmental policies to maintain a secure work environment.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and assist in disaster recovery and mitigation efforts.
- Asset Management: Inspect and maintain traffic control signs, signals, and public infrastructure to ensure operational readiness.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Licensing: Valid Class B Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works, general labor, or related field.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screen; must be capable of lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a cohesive team.
