Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems throughout El Paso.
- Operate heavy municipal machinery, including dump trucks, graders, and backhoes, safely and efficiently.
- Repair and maintain water lines, sewer infrastructure, and traffic control devices.
- Respond to emergency public works requests and weather-related incidents promptly.
- Ensure all work sites comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Collaborate with city engineers and planning teams to implement infrastructure improvements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting 50+ lbs and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials and road maintenance techniques.
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
