Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (snow plows, street sweepers, graders)
- Perform road repairs, drainage maintenance, and sidewalk installations
- Respond to emergency storm events (snow, flooding, downed trees)
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on city improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Provide excellent customer service to Boston residents and businesses
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of public works or heavy equipment experience
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
