Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city parks, playgrounds, and athletic fields
- Operate heavy equipment for landscape and irrigation repairs
- Inspect and repair public infrastructure (sidewalks, benches, signage)
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during storms or events
- Coordinate with contractors and city departments on projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years experience in public works or facility maintenance
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate power tools and heavy machinery safely
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and landscaping
