Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate and maintain municipal equipment such as trucks, mowers, and hand tools
- Support public works projects including park maintenance, landscaping, and facility upkeep
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations during all operations
- Provide excellent customer service to residents while addressing public inquiries and concerns
- Assist in emergency response situations including snow removal and disaster recovery
- Complete accurate documentation of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, maintenance, or related field
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and power tools safely
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
