Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate municipal equipment such as trucks, loaders, and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Assist in emergency response operations during weather events and public safety incidents
- Conduct inspections of public areas to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to coordinate municipal projects and service delivery
- Document work activities and submit detailed reports to supervisors
- Adhere to all city regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards
Qualifications
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Experience with basic hand tools and power equipment preferred
- Strong commitment to public service and community values
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Pass background check and drug screening as per city policy
- Basic computer literacy for reporting and documentation tasks
