Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city parks, streets, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including trucks, mowers, and construction tools
- Respond to emergency service calls during severe weather or public safety incidents
- Conduct inspections of infrastructure to identify hazards or maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on community improvement projects
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and city regulatory standards
- Document work activities and submit detailed reports to supervisors
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, maintenance, or public works
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic proficiency with hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to public service values
