Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on public infrastructure, including street signs, sidewalks, and lighting fixtures.
- Public Sanitation: Assist in the collection and disposal of waste, and maintain the cleanliness of public parks and recreational areas.
- Community Interaction: Serve as the face of the city, responding to citizen inquiries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all municipal safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, and local ordinances during daily operations.
- Emergency Support: Assist in disaster response and recovery efforts, ensuring critical city services remain operational during emergencies.
- Equipment Management: Inspect, maintain, and operate heavy machinery and hand tools required for municipal duties.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; vocational training in public works or a related field is a plus.
- License: Valid Florida Driver's License (Class E) and a clean driving record are mandatory.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physical labor including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse populations.
- Reliability: Demonstrated history of punctuality, dependability, and strong work ethic.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of mechanical systems or construction techniques is preferred.
