Responsibilities
- Maintain parks, playgrounds, and recreational facilities through daily cleaning, landscaping, and equipment inspections
- Operate municipal vehicles and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Respond to citizen service requests and resolve public space issues within 24 hours
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for city events and emergency response initiatives
- Implement sustainable practices in public space management and waste reduction
- Conduct routine safety audits and report maintenance needs to supervisors
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years in public works, landscaping, or facilities maintenance
- Valid Missouri driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
- Basic knowledge of landscaping tools and irrigation systems
- Must pass background check and drug screening
