Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance of public facilities, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate specialized municipal equipment (snow removal, waste management vehicles)
- Respond to emergency service calls during inclement weather and city events
- Conduct safety inspections and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on city improvement projects
- Provide direct public assistance during community events
- Maintain accurate service logs and documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Texas Class C driver's license (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 2 years municipal or public works experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic computer literacy for reporting systems
- Valid Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) flagging certification
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
