Responsibilities
- Perform essential manual labor including litter pickup, street sweeping, and debris removal on public roadways.
- Operate and maintain sanitation equipment, trucks, and various hand tools safely.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols while working in active traffic zones.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement winter weather.
- Inspect assigned routes to ensure compliance with city sanitation standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to complete daily work assignments efficiently.
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia Class C Driver’s License is required.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for extended periods in all weather conditions.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn heavy equipment operation.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.
- Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
