Responsibilities
- Perform routine street maintenance, including pothole repairs and sidewalk inspections
- Operate municipal equipment (sweepers, trucks, and hand tools) safely and efficiently
- Assist in snow removal and emergency response operations during inclement weather
- Conduct waste collection and recycling services across designated city zones
- Support public works projects including park beautification and facility maintenance
- Document daily operations using digital reporting systems and compliance tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Experience with municipal equipment operation or landscaping preferred
- Basic knowledge of DC municipal codes and safety protocols
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in diverse teams
- Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and during emergencies
