Responsibilities
- Maintain public parks, sidewalks, and municipal facilities to ensure safe and clean environments
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on city vehicles and specialized equipment
- Respond to weather-related emergencies (snow removal, flooding response) during on-call rotations
- Assist in infrastructure repair projects including road maintenance and drainage systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support community events and public safety initiatives
- Document daily work activities and submit detailed progress reports
- Adhere to all OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Maryland driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, maintenance, or related field
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (e.g., trucks, tractors, power tools) safely
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and equipment troubleshooting
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Must be available for emergency on-call shifts and weekend work as needed
