Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) infrastructure.
- Implement and monitor network security protocols to protect sensitive state data against cyber threats.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network connectivity issues and hardware failures.
- Perform regular system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal IT teams to manage network upgrades and software deployments.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and create technical guides for staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration, systems engineering, or a related IT field.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent networking certification preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to obtain a Level 2 background check and security clearance required for state employment.
