Responsibilities
- Design, install, and administer network infrastructure for the State of Illinois.
- Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure network security and performance.
- Monitor network traffic and troubleshoot hardware or software issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement new technology solutions and upgrades.
- Document network configurations, policies, and procedures for compliance and training.
- Perform regular security audits and patch management to protect against cyber threats.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in network administration or system engineering.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Illinois security clearance.
