Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security checks and headcounts to prevent contraband and escapes
- Respond to emergencies, altercations, and medical incidents with swift professionalism
- Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation for legal proceedings
- Operate security systems including CCTV, alarms, and access control equipment
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during transport and emergency situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Must be at least 21 years old and possess valid NC driver's license
- Successfully pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Basic certification in CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Experience in law enforcement, corrections, or security preferred
- Must demonstrate strong communication and conflict resolution skills
