Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls and dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS units
- Maintain accurate radio logs and incident documentation
- Operate CAD systems and multi-line telephones during high-stress scenarios
- Coordinate resources during critical incidents with other agencies
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions via phone
- Train on department-specific protocols and software systems
- Participate in shift rotations covering 24/7 operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid New York State driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certification
- Basic computer proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional listening skills
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
- Must pass civil service examination upon hiring
