Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain secure facility operations during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular perimeter checks and surveillance to prevent security breaches
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document incident reports and maintain accurate shift records
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during critical situations
- Enforce facility policies and regulations consistently
- Provide first aid and emergency medical response when required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Valid California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
- Minimum 1 year correctional or law enforcement experience
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure overnight environments
- Pass extensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- Fluency in English and Spanish highly desirable
