Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security rounds and surveillance of correctional facilities
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during critical situations
- Screen visitors and incoming packages for security compliance
- Train in specialized crisis intervention and restraint procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Kentucky Peace Officer Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean criminal background
- Ability to pass physical fitness and psychological evaluation
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience in law enforcement or security preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
