Responsibilities
- Monitor facility perimeter and interior surveillance systems during overnight hours
- Conduct regular inmate counts and headcounts per protocol
- Respond to emergency situations including medical incidents and security breaches
- Enforce institutional rules and document incidents with detailed reports
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
- Conduct routine searches of common areas and inmate living quarters
- Maintain accurate logs of all facility activities and movements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Valid DC Security Guard License (Class D)
- Minimum 2 years security or law enforcement experience
- CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Must be available for rotating overnight shifts (11 PM - 7 AM)
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Proficient in using digital surveillance systems and reporting software
