Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security equipment
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required by security protocols
- Identify and report suspicious items, prohibited materials, and potential security threats
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Provide excellent customer service to travelers while enforcing security regulations
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency response teams during security incidents
- Adhere to TSA Standard Operating Procedures and federal security guidelines
Qualifications
- US citizenship or legal permanent resident status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- No prior experience required – comprehensive training provided
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security systems
