Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols during night shifts
- Conduct regular security patrols and perimeter checks
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document all incidents, observations, and routine activities accurately
- Operate security systems including surveillance equipment and access controls
- Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed
- Maintain inmate accountability through head counts and movement tracking
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Must be 21+ years old and a U.S. citizen
- Valid Illinois driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness test
- Experience in security, military, or law enforcement preferred
- Strong communication skills and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays consistently
- Must complete state-mandated correctional officer training program
