Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations
- Conduct regular security checks and headcounts
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with trained protocols
- Document incidents and maintain accurate reports
- Screen visitors and incoming packages
- Collaborate with healthcare and rehabilitation staff
- Operate security systems and control room equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing
- Ability to stand/walk for 12-hour shifts
- Florida Correctional Officer certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Must be 19+ years old and U.S. citizen
