Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular security patrols and surveillance of assigned areas
- Respond to emergencies and incidents following established protocols
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Screen visitors and control access points to prevent contraband
- Coordinate with day-shift staff for seamless transition of operations
- Participate in mandatory training programs and certification updates
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Valid New York State driver's license
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and physical fitness test
- Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays as needed
