Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and conduct security checks during night shift hours
- Enforce institutional rules and respond to emergencies with de-escalation techniques
- Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Conduct headcounts and perimeter surveillance to prevent contraband
- Coordinate with law enforcement during critical incidents
- Provide crisis intervention and first aid when required
- Operate security systems and control room equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification preferred
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass physical fitness and background checks
- Experience in security, military, or law enforcement preferred
- Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours
- Must be U.S. citizen and meet state residency requirements
