Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce institutional security protocols during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular perimeter checks and surveillance of correctional facilities
- Respond to emergencies, medical incidents, and security breaches with trained crisis intervention
- Document daily incidents, inmate behavior, and facility maintenance reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and correctional teams for coordinated operations
- Enforce state and federal regulations within correctional environments
- Provide emergency first aid and CPR when necessary
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- TCCLE certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Physical ability to restrain inmates and perform security duties
- Experience in law enforcement, corrections, or military preferred
- Strong communication skills and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure
