Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce institutional rules during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security checks and perimeter patrols to prevent contraband
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents with crisis intervention
- Maintain accurate logs and incident reports for compliance documentation
- Supervised inmate movement and facility operations during shift transitions
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
- Mentor junior staff and implement rehabilitation protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (college degree preferred)
- TX Peace Officer License or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 21 years of age and U.S. citizenship
- Ability to pass background check, physical agility test, and psychological evaluation
- Experience in security, corrections, or military/law enforcement (preferred)
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required
