Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules to maintain order and safety
- Conduct regular security rounds and inspections of facility premises
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents with protocol compliance
- Document incidents, reports, and daily operations accurately and timely
- Screen visitors and incoming/outgoing mail/packages for contraband
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during emergency situations
- Maintain professional conduct and ethical standards at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification required
- Minimum 21 years of age with valid Tennessee driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Strong communication skills and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in high-pressure team environments
- Basic computer literacy for report documentation
- Previous security or corrections experience preferred
