Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security rounds and surveillance of all facility areas
- Respond to emergencies and incidents using de-escalation techniques
- Document incident reports and maintain accurate shift logs
- Screen visitors and packages according to state regulations
- Collaborate with day shift staff for seamless operations
- Participate in mandatory training and drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Basic computer skills for report documentation
- Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities
- Physical stamina for extended overnight shifts (6PM-6AM)
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- CPR certification preferred (training provided)
