Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems, event logs, and traffic patterns 24/7 to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time.
- Conduct forensic analysis and root cause investigations for security incidents and system anomalies.
- Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPN gateways.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and security audits to ensure compliance with federal standards (NIST, DISA).
- Collaborate with the day-shift team and other stakeholders to report findings and implement remediation strategies.
- Document security incidents, policies, and procedures to maintain a robust knowledge base.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- Certifications: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance (preferred) or willingness to undergo background investigation.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, network administration, or systems engineering.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Must be available to work a rotating Night Shift schedule (e.g., 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM).
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common network protocols.
