Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain critical server infrastructure and network systems during the night shift to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Execute scheduled maintenance windows and software updates without disrupting daytime city operations.
- Respond to and resolve overnight system alerts and IT incidents with a focus on rapid containment and resolution.
- Perform nightly data backups, security audits, and system health checks to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Document all night shift activities, incidents, and resolutions in the IT Service Management system.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to hand over critical issues and ensure seamless continuity of operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT operations, system administration, or a related technical field.
- Proven ability to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Familiarity with government security protocols and compliance standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST) is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on attention to detail and problem-solving under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and reporting.
