Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot server infrastructure and network systems during night shift hours.
- Perform system backups, patch management, and security updates to ensure data integrity.
- Respond to Tier 2 support tickets and resolve critical technical issues with minimal supervision.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments to comply with state and federal standards.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to document technical changes and ensure continuity of operations.
- Manage and configure firewalls and antivirus solutions to protect against cyber threats.
- Ensure 24/7 availability of key government applications and databases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT support.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
- Understanding of ITIL framework and incident management processes.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently during night shifts.
