Responsibilities
- Monitor local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) for performance issues and security breaches.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex network hardware and software issues during night operations.
- Configure and manage firewalls, routers, and switches to ensure optimal data flow.
- Implement and maintain IT security policies and procedures in compliance with federal standards (NIST).
- Perform scheduled maintenance, patches, and system backups during low-traffic periods.
- Document all system changes and incident reports for day shift handover.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Active Secret Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
- 2+ years of experience in network administration, specifically in a 24/7 or shift-based environment.
- Certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or Security+ are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VPN, and routing protocols.
