Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate pension benefit claims, ensuring compliance with state regulations and federal guidelines.
- Analyze financial data and documentation to determine eligibility for retirement benefits.
- Provide exceptional customer service to retirees and beneficiaries via phone and secure messaging portals during night hours.
- Conduct internal audits and reconciliations of pension accounts to maintain data integrity.
- Collaborate with the day shift team to resolve complex cases and ensure seamless workflow continuity.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the state’s centralized retirement database.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pension administration, retirement planning, or government financial services.
- Strong knowledge of California Government Code and retirement regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Must be available to work rotating night shifts (typically 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and state-specific case management software.
