Join San Francisco's elite emergency response team as a Night Shift Public Safety Dispatcher. Responsibilities
- Manage emergency communications during overnight hours (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units to critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all emergency calls and responses
- Utilize CAD/RMS systems for real-time incident tracking
- Provide crisis intervention to callers in emergency situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Ensure compliance with NIMS protocols and department procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum 1-year dispatch/emergency communications experience
- Valid POST Public Safety Dispatcher certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating night shifts including weekends/holidays
- Pass comprehensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Proficiency in CAD/RMS systems (e.g., Motorola, Hexagon)
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency strongly preferred
