Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency calls via 911 and non-emergency lines
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units with precision and speed
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications using CAD/RMS systems
- Provide critical pre-arrival instructions to callers during emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Perform routine system checks and equipment maintenance
- Train and mentor new dispatchers on protocols and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (college degree preferred)
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (10-hour shifts, 4 days/week)
- Valid Washington State driver's license
- Exceptional multitasking and stress management abilities
- Clear communication skills with all demographic groups
- Basic computer proficiency (typing 40+ WPM)
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Must be US citizen or authorized to work in the US
