Responsibilities
- Monitor city premises via CCTV systems and physical patrols during night shift hours
- Respond to security breaches, alarms, and emergency incidents with immediate action protocols
- Enforce access control measures for restricted areas and sensitive city facilities
- Document incidents through detailed reports using digital security management systems
- Coordinate with Austin Police Department and emergency services during critical situations
- Conduct routine safety inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment
- Operate specialized security technology including biometric scanners and alarm systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in criminal justice preferred
- Minimum 3 years security, law enforcement, or military experience
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain and maintain Texas Peace Officer Commission certification
- Proficiency in security software, CCTV operations, and incident reporting systems
- Physical ability to perform patrols in various weather conditions and respond to emergencies
- Must pass comprehensive background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
