Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security rounds and perimeter checks
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document incidents and maintain detailed shift reports
- Operate security systems including CCTV and control panels
- Screen visitors and incoming packages according to protocol
- Collaborate with day shift personnel during transition periods
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification preferred
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing
- Previous security or military experience beneficial
