Responsibilities
- Monitor facility security and conduct regular perimeter checks during night shifts
- Supervise inmate activities and enforce institutional policies
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations with appropriate protocols
- Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Conduct headcounts and ensure compliance with correctional standards
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
- Train new officers on safety procedures and emergency protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- TX Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 21 years of age and U.S. citizenship
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Physical fitness to handle security duties and emergency situations
- Strong communication skills and conflict resolution abilities
- Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
