Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance, security logs, and network traffic to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Perform routine maintenance, patch management, and hardware upgrades on servers and workstations.
- Ensure compliance with federal security protocols, including access control and audit trails.
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support to internal federal staff and external stakeholders during the night shift.
- Document all incidents, resolutions, and system configurations in accordance with ITIL standards.
- Collaborate with the Day Shift team to ensure seamless handover of system status and critical alerts.
Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain one) is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and Active Directory environments.
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Ability to work independently and maintain high productivity during night hours.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting technical status.
