Responsibilities
- Maintain park facilities: Mow lawns, trim hedges, clean restrooms, and pick up litter to ensure parks are pristine and welcoming.
- Support community events: Assist with setting up and breaking down equipment for festivals, sports games, and public gatherings.
- Maintain equipment: Perform routine maintenance on park machinery, tools, and vehicles to ensure safety and functionality.
- Enforce park rules: Monitor recreational areas to ensure safety protocols are followed and assist visitors with inquiries.
- Perform minor repairs: Make necessary repairs to fences, benches, and playground structures to keep facilities in top condition.
- Seasonal landscaping: Plant trees, flowers, and shrubs and prepare athletic fields for the season.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in landscaping, maintenance, or customer service is preferred but not always required.
- License: Valid North Carolina driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of lawn care equipment and tools.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
