Responsibilities
Your day-to-day tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining and beautifying public parks, athletic fields, and recreational facilities to ensure a pristine environment for citizens.
- Performing general landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming, planting, and watering vegetation.
- Inspecting and repairing playground equipment, fencing, and other park infrastructure to ensure safety compliance.
- Assisting with the set-up and breakdown of recreational programs, sports leagues, and community events.
- Operating and maintaining landscaping machinery, such as mowers, trimmers, and tractors, following all safety protocols.
- Interacting with the public to answer inquiries and provide information about park rules and facilities.
- Removing litter, debris, and hazardous waste from public grounds.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or facility maintenance is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.
- Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all city policies and regulations.
- Basic knowledge of horticulture and lawn care equipment is a plus.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
