Responsibilities
- Maintain and beautify parks, trails, athletic fields, and recreational facilities to high standards.
- Perform general landscaping duties, including mowing, weeding, planting, and seasonal cleanup.
- Ensure cleanliness of restrooms, picnic areas, and playgrounds throughout the park system.
- Assist with the setup, operation, and teardown of city-sponsored events, festivals, and sports leagues.
- Monitor park grounds for safety hazards, vandalism, or maintenance needs and report issues promptly.
- Operate and perform minor maintenance on landscaping equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, and tractors.
- Interact with the public in a professional manner, answering questions and providing information about park amenities.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, and working in various weather conditions.
- Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping, horticulture, or park maintenance practices.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
