Responsibilities
- Maintain park facilities, athletic fields, and beach areas through daily cleaning, landscaping, and equipment inspections
- Organize and lead recreational programs including youth sports, senior activities, and cultural events
- Enforce safety protocols and provide emergency response support during park incidents or natural disasters
- Assist with special events like marathons, concerts, and community festivals
- Operate maintenance equipment (mowers, trimmers, irrigation systems) and recreational facilities
- Conduct facility inspections and report maintenance needs or hazards
- Support volunteer coordination and community outreach initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in recreation management preferred
- 1+ years experience in park maintenance, event coordination, or customer service
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Valid Hawaii driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse community members
- Knowledge of Hawaiian flora/fauna and sustainability practices
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
