Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain park facilities, playgrounds, athletic fields, and recreational equipment
- Assist in organizing and leading community events, sports leagues, and educational programs
- Perform routine groundskeeping, landscaping, and habitat restoration tasks
- Enforce park rules and regulations while providing exceptional customer service to visitors
- Conduct daily safety inspections and report maintenance needs or hazards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects and seasonal initiatives
- Support emergency preparedness and disaster response for park infrastructure
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years in park maintenance, landscaping, or recreation services
- Valid Florida driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire
- Strong physical stamina for outdoor work in Florida's climate (heat, humidity, rain)
- Basic knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems, and horticulture
- Exceptional communication skills and commitment to community engagement
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Pass background check and drug screening per city policy
