Responsibilities
- Receive, organize, and file legal documents, including civil, criminal, and traffic cases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court procedures.
- Assist the public with filing motions, serving subpoenas, and accessing court records in a professional and courteous manner.
- Operate court management software and electronic filing systems to input case data and track case status in real-time.
- Manage the reception area, answer high-volume phone lines, and direct inquiries to the appropriate departments or staff members.
- Prepare and distribute court notices, summonses, and dockets to judges, attorneys, and litigants.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive legal and personal information at all times.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate degree in paralegal studies or legal administration is a plus.
- Proven experience in office administration, data entry, or a related field within the legal or government sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and court case management software.
- Fast and accurate typing skills (minimum 40 WPM) with a high attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Ability to pass a background check and adhere to the Code of Judicial Conduct.
