We're seeking a dedicated Part-Time Federal Claims Specialist to process veteran benefit applications with precision and compassion. Responsibilities
- Review and process VA disability compensation claims in accordance with federal regulations
- Communicate claim status updates to veterans and their families via phone/email
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS)
- Collaborate with medical staff to gather supporting evidence for claims
- Adhere to strict HIPAA and data privacy protocols
- Participate in quarterly compliance audits and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- US Citizenship required
- Minimum 1 year experience in claims processing or customer service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management
- Strong attention to detail with ability to interpret complex regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to pass federal background check
- VA claims system experience preferred
