Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans including TSP, FERS, and CSRS with meticulous attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
- Analyze complex pension data to calculate benefits, process claims, and resolve discrepancies using specialized software.
- Provide authoritative guidance to federal employees and retirees regarding retirement planning, survivor benefits, and pension rollovers.
- Conduct audits and quality reviews of pension documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to federal standards.
- Collaborate with OPM, Treasury, and agency partners to streamline pension processes and improve beneficiary experiences.
- Develop educational materials and conduct workshops on pension options and retirement planning.
- Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive personal and financial information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2 years of pension plan administration or federal benefits experience.
- Expertise in federal retirement systems (TSP, FERS, CSRS) and ERISA regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SAP HCM, or pension administration software.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial regulations and actuarial data.
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background clearance.
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, CCP) strongly preferred.
