Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize confidential veteran records in compliance with federal regulations (VA Directive 6400)
- Process and digitize medical, benefits, and personal documentation using VA systems
- Respond to veteran inquiries regarding records status and retrieval procedures
- Coordinate with VA medical centers and regional offices for document verification
- Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure data integrity and HIPAA compliance
- Train on VA-specific software and security protocols during onboarding
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate's degree preferred)
- Minimum 1 year experience in records management or administrative support
- Familiarity with federal documentation standards (FISMA, HIPAA)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic database management
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
